At times it got extremely windy, keeping us up at night. I don't think that there was ever the threat of a tropical storm or hurricane while we were there but the clouds were ominous at times. It does appear that there is a tropical storm (Fay) heading towards Florida now. It could turn into a hurricane when it reaches Florida by Tuesday the 19th.
Here are some pictures of the clouds.
This one was when we were eating in Red Lobster. The clouds were moving very fast and this one looked very scary but went by quickly and never amounted to anything serious.
This one was taken in the same parking lot a few minutes later.
A few shots of the clouds from our room.
Looks like we picked a good week to avoid a hurricane. Here's the Hurricane Storm Center prediction of the latest one, named Fay, headed to Florida. The winds were scary enough with what we experienced, I could not imagine a hurricane. CAT1, which is what Fay is predicted to be, is sustained winds of > 73 MPH.
